KUALA LUMPUR: Five foreign women believed to be sex workers, along with three male customers, were detained following a raid at a hotel in Jalan Pudu Ulu here.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Saiful Annuar Yusoff said police raided the hotel at about 4.45pm on Wednesday (Sept 8).
"We detained the foreign women aged between 25 and 40 as well as three male customers aged between 20 and 36.
"We also seized 13 condoms, five towels, three lubricants, five access cards and RM1,070 in cash," he said when contacted on Thursday (Sept 9).
Police are investigating under Section 372B of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act, he added.
He added that stern action will be taken against those caught participating in prostitution.
