PETALING JAYA: Ensuring that Malaysia recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic and restoring the economy is a priority at this challenging time, says newly-appointed Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong.
On his Facebook page, Dr Wee said that he will also ensure the ministry he is helming continues to benefit the people.
“I will do my best to ensure that the ministry continues to move forward and benefit the people and the country.
“There is nothing more important at this time but to ensure that the Malaysian Family can get out of the Covid-19 pandemic and the country's economy is restored,” he said on Monday (Aug 30).
Dr Wee also expressed his gratitude to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Prime Minister for his appointment as the Transport Minister.
“I would like to express my gratitude to His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong and thank the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, for the trust given to me to carry out the responsibility as the Transport Minister,” he said.
Dr Wee is among the new cabinet ministers and deputy ministers who were sworn in and took their oaths of office, loyalty and secrecy before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara on Monday (Aug 30).
