Covid-19: EMCO on 10 localities in Sabah from Friday (Aug 27)


PUTRAJAYA: Ten localities in Sabah will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) beginning Friday (Aug 27).

In Telupid, the affected areas are Kampung Gading, Kampung Ulu Sapi and Ladang Melia.

In Penampang, the lockdown will be enforced on Phase 5 Beverly Hills and Kampung Nambazan.

According to the National Security Council (NSC), the affected areas in Ranau are Kampung Lohan Ulu and Kampung Libang; while in Tawau, the enhanced MCO will be imposed on Kampung Batu 22 Apas.

Other affected areas are Kampung Landung Ayang in Kudat and Kampung Pengalat Kecil in Papar.

The NSC said the order will also be placed on Ladang Cheekah in Bera, Pahang; and Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Masai in Johor Baru.

"The enhanced MCO to be placed in localities in Sabah and Pahang will be from Aug 27 to Sept 9 while the lockdown in Johor Baru will take effect from Thursday (Aug 26) to Sept 8," the council said on Wednesday (Aug 25).

The NSC also announced that the enhanced MCO on several localities in Sabah will be extended until Sept 9.

The affected areas are Kampung Betutai, Kampung Bontoi, Kampung Kindu, Kampung Serusop, Taman Sri Rugading and Taman Telipok Ria in Tuaran.

The order on Kampung Bergosong and PPR Taman Sri Apas Batu 8 in Tawau has also been extended.
