Police looking for man involved in fatal hit-and-run incident on Jalan Mahameru

KUALA LUMPUR: Police here are searching for the man who they believe was allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident on Saturday (Aug 14).

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said that the incident occurred at around 4.30am along Jalan Mahameru.

“A car went into a closed lane, crashing into a warning sign before hitting a lorry and a road roller machine. That led to the roller to hit three workers, killing one. The road was closed for repair work at the time,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Both survivors have been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries from the incident.

The police are urging Kesavan Gunaseelan to come forward to assist investigations into the case. His last known address was at Taman Sri Sentosa, Kuala Lumpur.
