SPARKING joy during these trying times, Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) recently awarded close to RM1mil worth of prizes to over 350 lucky winners in its nationwide PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race Fuel Contest, including a brand-new condominium unit and a luxury car.
Brand new condo unit
Azfar Abdul Aziz emerged the grand prize winner of a unit at Verdi Eco-dominium worth almost RM600,000, courtesy of UEM Sunrise Berhad, while first prize winner Ooi Kin Shun won a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 AMG Line worth close to RM300,000.
Commenting on his win, Azfar, an IT Consultant said: “My job has me travelling a lot to meet clients and for site visits. I am very particular with the fuel I use as I want a comfortable driving experience. The new PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race is exactly what I needed as I could feel the difference in response and it also gives me more mileage.
“When PETRONAS came up with the fuel contest, I thought this could be my chance to also win something because I refuel frequently and I’m a Setel user.
“I have never won something so grand and I can’t imagine the look on my wife and children’s faces when I tell them we have actually won the Verdi Eco-dominium by UEM Sunrise.
“I am really grateful, especially during this challenging period. At the same time, I do hope everyone who’s impacted out there could be better and safe soon,” he added.
New set of wheels
First prize winner Ooi, who is also a Setel user said: “As a Grab driver, I have never won any life-changing prizes like this before. It certainly made a difference in my family’s life especially during this pandemic period.

Everybody wins
In the contest, nine winners each received one year’s supply of fuel worth RM3,000, while 300 others won RM100 Setel e-vouchers which can be used to purchase fuel or items from Kedai Mesra. Sixty winners received two units of PETRONAS Syntium 3000 5W-30 lubricants worth RM360.
The PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race Contest which ran from March 1 till May 31 required customers to fuel up on the new PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race with a minimum of RM40 in a single receipt in three separate transactions within the same month at any given period throughout the campaign duration.
The contest was organised in conjunction with the launch of PDB’s new PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race, which was developed to deliver three key benefits most relevant to motorists today: power, responsiveness and efficiency.
Dubbed its best fuel, the new PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race utilises a formulation unique to PETRONAS enhanced with the world’s first Advanced Dual Friction Modifier that reduces friction by 25% more than the previous fuel.
The new friction modifier chemistry incorporates a unique fuel and oil interaction formulation that increases fuel efficiency – resulting in further mileage and lower carbon emissions.
The new fuel also removes 99.9% of deposits from key areas in the engine, unlocking the car’s full potential to achieve effortless power.
