Covid-19: EMCO in several localities in six states from July 31- Aug 13

PETALING JAYA: The enhanced movement control order has been imposed at several localities in six states.

In a statement Thursday (July 29), Senior Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the states affected are Sabah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak and Kedah.

Among the areas are Kampung Lembah Permai and Kampung Pugi Gunsapou in Sabah, and Taman Desa Bidara in Kedah.

The EMCO will start from July 31 until Aug 13.

The minister added that 10 localities currently under the EMCO will end, following an assessment by the Health Ministry.

This includes Taman Mewah in Melaka, which ends on July 30, and Jalan Batu Nilam, Klang, which ends on July 29.

On compliance enforcement, Hishammuddin said that 63 premises were issued stop-work orders on July 28 following SOP compliance checks.

"Five factories, 55 business premises and three construction sites were ordered to close immediately.

"On individuals found going against Covid-19 SOPs, around 296 people were issued compound notices, with 20 remanded," he said.

Six illegal foreigners were also detained by authorities under Ops Benteng.
