Two suspected drug addicts nabbed after car chase near Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested two suspected drug addicts following a car chase near a roadblock near Parliament on Monday (July 26).

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said in the 11.50pm incident, a car refused to stop at a roadblock near the Parliament entrance and made a U-turn before speeding off towards Jalan Mahameru.

“A chase ensued and the car was stopped successfully. Both men were under the influence of drugs at the time and were worried that they would have been arrested at the roadblock," he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 27).

Checks showed that both suspects, aged 25, had prior records for drug-related offences.

Urine tests showed that both men tested positive for meth. They have been remanded until July 29.
