Man killed in fire at Kampar


IPOH: A man was killed in a fire at his house in Kampung Padang Tembak, Kampar.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said Ahmad Busir Ghazali, in his 50s, was found burnt beyond recognition during the incident that occurred on Thursday (July 22) at about 11.50pm.

"His body was found near the front door and has been handed over to the police for the next course of action.

"The victim's wife, Ngah Dimah Tamin, in her 60s, had difficulty breathing and was sent to the hospital for treatment," he said in a statement.

The fire had engulfed the house and also damaged two other houses.

"The operation, led by Kampar Fire and Rescue Department chief Meor Mohamad Ali Meor Hussin, ended on Friday at 3.30am," he said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
