Covid-19: Hisham under quarantine again after coming into close contact

PETALING JAYA: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein is quarantined again after coming in close contact with someone who was tested positive for Covid-19.

In an Instagram post, Hishammuddin apologised for not being able to return to his Sembrong constituency to personally congratulate two of his constituents due to the quarantine.

Hishammuddin instead congratulated Wong Hui Jun, Hew Yee Han, and their parents via video call over excellent SPM results, where Wong and Hew received 11As and 10As respectively.

“So sorry for not being able to go down today. I am in isolation quarantine - close contact with someone who was tested positive,” he posted in a comment on his Instagram page on Saturday (July 17).

On Friday (July 16), Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said in a statement that he is undergoing voluntary self-quarantine at home after one of his special officers tested positive for Covid-19.

Last month, Hishammuddin was quarantined after being in close contact with a Covid-19 positive case and had to miss the Special Asean-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Chongqing, China.

He was also quarantined in May last year after an officer from Wisma Putra tested positive, and in September after coming into contact with a Covid-19 case.
