Firemen remove 3.65m python from goat pen after it devours kid

KOTA KINABALU: Fire and Rescue Department personnel removed a 3.65m long python from a goat pen in Kg Suasa, Beaufort, on Thursday (July 15).

A man had seen the snake in his goat pen when he went to check on a commotion there at around noon Thursday.

Seeing the large reptile inside, he immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Department for help.

State Fire and Rescue Department official Mohd Affendy Ramin said after receiving the call, a team was sent to the scene where they found the python.

They found that the python had just swallowed a kid (baby goat) and was not able to move much.

Affendy said the reptile was removed from the pen before it was handed over to wildlife officials to be released into the wild, far from residential areas.

“No humans were injured in this incident,” Affendy said.
