Bukit Aman probes alleged sabotage of MySejahtera vaccine recipient list

PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has opened investigations into allegations of sabotage of the MySejahtera vaccine recipient list.

Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Mohd Kamarudin Md Din said they received a report from a staff member at a vaccination centre in Kuala Lumpur recently.

"The individual claims that the list of vaccine recipients surpassed the amount of vaccines available at the vaccination centre.

"We have opened investigations into unauthorised modification of the contents of any computer, programme or data held in any particular computer under Section 5 of the Computer Crimes Act 1997," he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 14).

He said the investigations were still at the early stages and police were in the midst of taking statements from a number of witnesses related to the case.

"We urge the public not to make any speculation on the issue and allow us to investigate the matter further.

"In line with the efforts to ensure the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme is successfully realised, the public are advised to always fully support and cooperate with the government," he said.

Comm Mohd Kamarudin added that police would not compromise with any action to sabotage the programme for individual gain or otherwise.

"Stern action in accordance with all available laws will be taken against anyone found guilty," he said.
