Ramli: Follow supreme council’s decision

IPOH: All Umno members should abide by the supreme council’s decision as it is the party’s apex decision-making body, says Ramli Mohd Nor.

“As an Umno MP, I am not exempted and will abide by the party’s decision,” said the Cameron Highlands MP.

“My stand is the same as Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail’s, who is also Pahang Umno chairman.

“The mandate is now on the party president and supreme council to set a date to leave the Federal Government,” Ramli said yesterday.

On Thursday, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party had decided to officially withdraw support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister, citing what he called the latter’s failure to abide by the terms set by its supreme council.

Ramli said his main task now was to help people who were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I am focusing on efforts and initiatives to help the people, especially those in my constituency,” he said.
