Six factories, 12 businesses closed for breaching SOP


PUTRAJAYA: Six factories and 12 business premises were forced to close after they were found to have violated standard operating procedures (SOP).

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the special task force monitoring SOP compliance checked 88,875 premises nationwide on Sunday (July 4).

This includes 2,566 factories, 16,270 business premises, 600 construction sites and 241 workers' hostels.

"The government has stepped up enforcement and carried out more inspections on factories and business premises after many were found to have violated the government's orders as well as SOP.

"Authorities have ordered six factories and 12 business premises to shut operations on Sunday for violating SOP," he said on Monday (July 5).
