Covid-19: 5,304 new cases bring total to 657,508


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 5,304 new cases, bringing the nation's cumulative total to 657,508.

In a tweet on Sunday (June 13), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 5,299 were local infections while five were imported cases.

Sixty four people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country's death toll to 3,908.

It also said there were 8,163 recoveries for a total of 580,276 cases to date.

The number of active cases is now 73,324.

Of this number, 917 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 452 requiring ventilator support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 1,973, followed by Sarawak (544) and Kuala Lumpur (462).
