Battling cancer, Kapayan rep Lasimbang pens Kaamatan song to inspire Sabah's indigenous folk

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's Kapayan assemblyman Jannie Lasimbang is battling cancer but that has not stopped her from joining local singers and performing for the Kaamatan festivities.

Known for her decades of grassroots work with indigenous people in Sabah, Lasimbang said she wrote the lyrics for the song "Sunduvan Kaamatan Aiso Vohit" (Spirit of a Borderless Kaamatan) as she wants the communities to remain upbeat and stick to their goals.
