Covid-19: 6,493 cases for 498,795 total, S'gor still with most cases at 2,163


PETALING JAYA: The number of new Covid-19 cases recorded in the country remains over 6,000 on Friday (May 21).

In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said with the 6,493 cases recorded, the cumulative total was now 498,795.

Once again, Selangor had the most cases with 2,163, followed by Kuala Lumpur (641) and Sarawak (612).

In the same 24-hour period, there were 50 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 2,149.

There were also 4,508 recoveries, which means 444,540 have recovered from the disease nationwide.

There are still 643 patients in intensive care units, with 363 requiring ventilator support.
