PETALING JAYA: Fourteen individuals have been remanded while 278 others were issued compounds for movement control order violations on Thursday (May 13), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Defence Minister said among the violations committed were failure to provide entry log or equipment (75), not wearing face masks (45), not observing physical distancing (62) and 110 other offences.
"The compliance operations task force, led by police, comprising 14,179 personnel divided into 3,077 teams conducted 56,925 checks on Thursday.
"They checked 4,045 supermarkets, 3,974 restaurants, 2,025 factories, 3,944 banks, 801 government offices, and 1,675 hawker centres.
"They also monitored 1,531 markets and farmers markets; 3,489 places of worship; 1,624 recreational areas; 1,349 land transport terminals; 335 water transport terminals; and 103 air transport terminals," he said.
Meanwhile, under Ops Benteng, he said seven foreigners were arrested on Thursday, adding that 481 roadblocks were also conducted nationwide.
On sanitation operations, Ismail Sabri said 44 were conducted on Thursday involving 25 red zones, three orange zones and five yellow zones.
"The operations were conducted by 202 Fire and Rescue Department personnel 190 local government personnel and 37 fire engines.
"Cumulatively, 23,592 operations had been conducted since March 30 involving 156 zones," he said.
