Yuna staying put in Malaysia to work on new album

US-based Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna is not returning to the states so soon, Harian Metro reported.

The 34-year-old, who has been living in the United States since 2011 to pursue an international career, is busy working on her latest album in Malaysia.

“There are plans to return to the United States, but it is not safe for me and my husband to go now.

“We will wait until after we are vaccinated. Furthermore, I’m working on my fifth album here as the last one was in 2019, ” she said, adding that she was thankful for being able to spend time with her family in the country.

Yuna, who made a quick trip back to Malaysia last March, ended up staying longer than expected following the movement control order and border closure.

“God willing, the album will launch at the end of the year, ” said Yuna, whose full name is Yunalis Zarai.

Johor Wildlife and National Parks Department director Salman Saaban said motorists should not honk frantically or stop to take videos upon sighting these animals, as the elephants might see this as a threat.

Salman’s warning came following the sighting of 30 to 40 elephants that moved as a herd into the area.

“They move from the Panti forest reserve to the plantation area across the trunk road in search of food, from night to morning, ” he said.
