Covid-19: 13 new clusters identified, two linked to social events


PUTRAJAYA: Thirteen new Covid-19 clusters have been identified, with two of them linked to community transmissions at social events.

The Taman Mawar cluster was detected in Sandakan, Sabah, with 15 individuals found to be positive.

It involved a social event that took place there, according to a statement by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) on Tuesday (Feb 23).

Another cluster that involved a social event took place along Jalan Muhibbah, Betong, in Sarawak.

The cluster has seen 18 positive cases out of the 110 individuals that were screened.

The remaining 11 new clusters involved transmission at the workplace.

The Jalan Damai cluster is located in Klang, Selangor, with 18 cases found after a targeted screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Damai, Kampung Batu Belah.

The Subang Tiga cluster in Petaling, Selangor, has 16 cases linked to it after a targeted screening of workers at a factory in Jalan Subang 3, Subang Jaya Industrial Estate.

The Jalan Serendah cluster involves the Petaling, Sepang, Klang and Gombak districts in Selangor.

Thirty cases linked to this cluster were detected following a targeted screening of workers at a factory along Jalan Serendah, Hicom Industrial Estate in Shah Alam.

The Digital Lapan construction site cluster involves the Kulai and Johor Baru districts in Johor, with 133 cases found positive.

The cases were found after a targeted screening of workers at a construction site along Jalan Digital 8, Taman Perindustrian Kulai.

The Jalan Cyber Sembilan cluster is in Kulai, Johor and has 12 cases after a targeted screening of workers at a factory along Jalan Cyber 9, Taman Perindustrian Senai IV.

The Jalan Tebrau Pandan cluster involves a market in Johor Baru, and has 18 positive cases to date.

The Jalan Wawasan 16 cluster involves workers at a factory in the Sri Gading Industrial Park 2 in Batu Pahat, Johor, where seven cases have been detected so far.

The Jalan Setiawangsa cluster is located in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, and has 51 cases following a targeted screening of workers at a market in Taman Setiawangsa.

The Jalan Bayam cluster involves the Cheras and Titiwangsa districts in Kuala Lumpur, with 13 cases detected after a targeted screening of workers at a market.

The Jalan Ekar construction site cluster is located in Seremban, Negri Sembilan and involves workers at Jalan Ekar 1/3 in Kampung Rantau, with 50 cases detected so far.

The Jalan PKNK 3/3 cluster is in Kuala Muda, Kedah and has 40 cases following a targeted screening of factory workers at Jalan PKNK 3/3, Sungai Petani Industrial Area.
