Ismail Sabri: EMCO at SM Sultan Idris Shah II in Gerik, Perak extended until Monday (March 1)


PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order placed on SM Sultan Idris Shah II in Gerik, Perak will be extended until March 1 as new Covid-19 cases have been reported at the locality.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that health authorities had screened 256 people of which four were positive and the order was supposed to end on Friday.

“Health authorities have confirmed that there is an increase in the number of cases where four new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Feb 18. Following this, A second round of screening will be done on all students, ” he said on Thursday.

The government has agreed to extend enhanced MCO from Feb 20 till March 1.
