Ismail Sabri: 463 detained for MCO violations on Wednesday (Feb 17)


PETALING JAYA: Police arrested 463 individuals for various violations of standard operating procedure during movement control order.

The offences include no social distancing, cross border travel without permission, not putting on face masks and failure to register customers’ details.

Of those arrested, arrested, police issued 440 compounds, remanded 22 individuals whole one was released on bail

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the taskforce monitoring SOP compliance carried out 66,410 checks nationwide on Feb 17 at supermarkets, hawkers, food stalls, banks, factories and government offices.

“On Ops Benteng, 52 illegal immigrants were arrested and enforcement auhthorities sighted the presence of 102 boats in Malaysian waters, ” he said on Thursda (Feb 18).
