EMCO lifted at Pekan Nenas Immigration detention centre

PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order placed at the Pekan Nenas Immigration detention centre and staff quarters in Pontian, Johor has been lifted.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that health authorities had carried out 408 screenings for Covid-19 to date, with 125 positive results.

"We were informed that all positive patients who were sent to quarantine centres were discharged today and that health officials are not waiting for any more test results.

"Following the advice of the Health Ministry, we agreed to lift the enhanced MCO in this locality, a day before the scheduled date," he said on Thursday (Feb 4).
