PETALING JAYA: Police have detained a driver after a road accident that killed a female food delivery rider on Wednesday (Jan 27) along the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP).
"Investigations into the case were conducted and based on several witnesses at the scene, the incident was believed to have been caused by another vehicle.
"The driver from the other vehicle involved has come forward to give a statement. The driver was detained yesterday (Jan 29) for further investigations," said Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Abd Khalid Othman in a statement on Saturday (Jan 30).
Previously, Selangor Traffic Police Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said the 30-year-old victim died at the scene in the 6.01pm mishap.
The victim was believed to have skidded and hit the road divider with the impact flinging her and the motorcycle into a nearby tree.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
