IPOH: A medical assistant at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital died after falling off from the third floor of the premises.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz (pic) said the 39-year-old, from Medan Klebang Restu, Chemor, near here, is believed to have committed suicide on Wednesday (Jan 20), at about 6.45pm.
ACP A. Asmadi said the deceased’s body, clad in the hospital’s blue working attire, was found near the motorcycle parking area by a security guard.
“We found a note left behind by the deceased.
“He could not handle his own health issue and was unable to think normally, ” ACP A. Asmadi said in a statement.
“We also found his bag, which contained his identity, medical and counselling cards.
“His colleague also said that he was supposed to be working a 24-hour shift while waiting for his treatment result, ” he added.
ACP A. Asmadi said a postmortem will be conducted on Thursday (Jan 21).
“We were also told that the deceased did not have Covid-19.
“The matter has been classified as sudden death, ” he added.
