Ship from Malta held for anchoring without permission


MELAKA: A Malta-registered vessel with 26 crew members was detained for anchoring without permission about 4.9 nautical miles south-west of Pulau Upeh.

Melaka and Negri Sembilan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director (Operations) Maritime Commander Azman Samsudin said the ship, MT Tahitti IMO No. 9600877, was detained at about 1.15pm on Wednesday for failing to produce a document from the director of the Marine Department for approval to anchor at the location.
