KUALA LUMPUR: Police have issued 347 compounds to individuals for MCO violations, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).
The Senior Minister said 10 people out of the 347 were also remanded for various violations on Thursday (Dec 31).
"Among the violations committed were failure to observe physical distancing (54), failure to prepare entry logs and equipment (49), not wearing face masks (109), and night club activities (135)," he said in a statement on Friday (Jan 1).
He also said the compliance operations task force led by police had performed 43,798 checks to monitor and enforce the standard operating procedure (SOP).
He said a total of 3,025 supermarkets, 4,234 restaurants, 1,472 hawkers, 919 factories, 3,016 banks, and 654 government offices were checked.
"The task force also checked 889 land transport terminals, 164 water transport terminals and 86 air terminals.
"These checks were carried out by 2,397 teams involving 10,633 personnel," he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said under Ops Benteng, police had set up 110 roadblocks and arrested 31 undocumented migrants and seized five vehicles.
On mandatory quarantine, Ismail Sabri said 95,466 people had returned to Malaysia between July 24 and Dec 31.
"All of them have been sent to 77 hotels and 16 civil training institutes for quarantine.
"A total of 7,440 individuals are currently under quarantine while 540 individuals have been admitted to hospital," he said.
On construction sites, he said the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) conducted 14,124 checks at 8,029 construction sites.
"Yesterday, 10 sites were inspected and all of them complied with the SOP," he said.
