Ismail Sabri: 455 people fined for breaching recovery MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 455 individuals while another was remanded for violating the recovery movement control order (MCO) on Thursday (Nov 5), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The Senior Minister (Security) said among the offences committed were not wearing face masks, failure to practise physical distancing and activities at entertainment outlets.

"The SOP compliance task force led by police conducted 52,730 inspections nationwide.

"Among the locations were 3,705 supermarkets, 4,829 restaurants, 1,252 factories and 3,413 banks," he said in a statement on Friday (Nov 6).

On Ops Benteng, 25 undocumented immigrants and two boat captains were detained on Thursday, Ismail Sabri said.

"The authorities also seized nine land vehicles.

"A total of 277 roadblocks were conducted on Thursday. Our priority is to prevent any party from entering the country illegally," he added.

On another matter, Ismail Sabri said the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) conducted 13,125 checks on construction sites from April 20 until Nov 5, involving 7,794 sites.

"On Thursday, 22 sites adhered to SOPs while another was not in operation," he added.
