KOTA KINABALU: All state government departments are to keep the physical presence of their workforce down to 50% in a bid to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Sabah.
State secretary Datuk Safar Untong said the instructions for half the workforce for any team, department or agency to work from home was issued on Sept 25.
This instruction would stay in force for 14 days starting Oct 5, he said.
“All department chiefs and heads must restructure their workforce to ensure a smooth transition of work, and to arrange timetables with priorities given to essential services,” he said in a statement Friday (Oct 2).
Safar said a proper and systematic approach needed to be taken to ensure that work could still be done at a satisfactory level without compromising on health and safety management.
Anyone who failed to adhere to the instruction is subject to disciplinary actions according to related Acts and regulations, he added.
