JOHOR BARU: Johor police busted two separate syndicates that have been supplying drugs to Johor Baru market over the past two years.
State police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said a total of eight raids were carried out in relation to the two cases on Sept 16 and Sept 19 respectively.
“The two syndicates, led by two different leaders, have been actively taking their supplies from the northern parts of the country before processing the drugs and distributing it to the market.
A total of 13 individuals were arrested, including a 17-year-old and a Singaporean, he said.
“The raids and arrests, which took place in Johor Baru, Iskandar Puteri, Kulai and Kluang, also led to the seizure of various drugs worth about RM210,993 in total, ” he told a press conference on Tuesday (Sept 22).
Other seized items include jewellery, money and cars, added Comm Ayob.
He said all the suspects for both cases, aged 17 to 62, had been placed under remand for seven days until Sept 26 to aid in police investigations.
