KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal has promised that Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau will keep his Deputy Chief Minister's post should the people return the mandate to Warisan Plus to govern after the state election.

“When we (Warisan Plus) become the (state) government, I will give the DCM post to Madius... he, for sure, will be a minister and DCM," said the caretaker Chief Minister when addressing the people at Kampung Lokub, Kiulu, on Thursday (Sept 17).

Shafie was there as part of the campaign trail to show support to Madius who is contesting the Kiulu state seat.

Shafie reasoned that Madius, who is Tuaran MP and Upko president, has been vocal in defending Sabah rights in Parliament sittings, as well as leaders from Sabah PKR, which is under Warisan Plus.

"So it is not Barisan Nasional, not Umno, who are fighting for Sabah's struggles," he said.

Shafie added that he was confident of the support from people in the east and west coast of Sabah for Warisan Plus.

He said as such, there was no reason for voters not to back Upko in this constituency.
