Contract worker dies after falling into boiler at palm oil mill

JASIN: A Bangladeshi contract worker was killed after he fell into a waste boiler at a palm oil mill in Jalan Rim here on Sunday (Sept 13).

Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Mispani Hamdan identified the victim as Md Abdul Manan Molla, 39, who succumbed to severe burns in the 11.30am incident.

He said the victim was carrying out piping work on the rooftop before he is believed to have fallen into the 4.5m-deep boiler.

Supt Mispani said co-workers heard a loud noise before finding the victim missing.

He said the victim had been installing the piping at the mill site since July.

Supt Mispani added that state Fire and Rescue Department took almost three hours to retrieve the body from the floor of the boiler.
