PETALING JAYA: Business associations are hoping the government will take into account the impact of higher fines on livelihoods and the economy for non-compliance with the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).
On Tuesday, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced a proposal for the maximum fine for compoundable offences under Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988) to be raised from RM1,000 to RM10,000 had been submitted to Parliament.
