PETALING JAYA: Authorities have been urged to an incident where a man allegedly drowned three cats in a washing machine at a self-service launderette in Kepong.
Harian Metro reported that a 30-year-old man early Sunday (July 12) allegedly carried out the act.
Quoting Malaysian Animal Association president Arie Dwi Andika, the report added that a woman found the dead cats when she opened one of the washing machines there.
"The woman made a police report at the Taman Ehsan police station for quick action to be taken by the authorities," she told Harian Metro.
Arie also urged the Veterinary Services Department (DVS) to take strict action.
A video recording showing the man putting the three cats inside the washing machine has also spread online.
Netizens have condemned the man, while urging the authorities to act quickly.
