PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) has expressed the government's commitment to ensure the administration is clean and with integrity.
The Prime Minister said he will not compromise on this.
"That is why the Anti-Corruption Action Plan that was agreed upon during the previous administration will continue.
"We want to ensure that all matters pertaining to administration will be conducted according to the rule of law," he told civil servants at the Prime Minister's Department monthly gathering on Monday (July 6).
Muhyiddin said that it is his intention to see to it that there will be no abuse of power by the Perikatan Nasional administration.
"This is what this government will be emphasising on.
"We are committed to seeing that the management of this country is done accordingly and in the right manner.
"This includes the country's finances where we want to stop wastage and leakages," he said.
The Prime Minister said that the movement control order (MCO) - set to prevent the spread of Covid-19 - had put a halt in the government's spending on development.
"For now, I have been told by the Chief Secretary to the Government that between 45% to 50% of allocation for development has been spent.
"We need to ensure what has been allocated for development for the year 2020 be spent according to plan," he said.
