Medical groups to meet PM over new shift system in health clinics

PETALING JAYA: A meeting will be held with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to resolve the outcry over the implementation of a new shift system in government health clinics, say several medical groups.

In a joint statement, the medical groups said they opposed the implementation of the new shift system, adding that if the Health Ministry (MOH) intended to continue with it, a detailed study must first be conducted and proper engagements held with all stakeholders.

The signatories of the statement consist of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, the Malaysian Nurses Association, the Malaysian Nurses Union, Kesatuan Pemandu-Pemandu Kementerian Kesihatan Semenanjung Malaysia and the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs).
