PUTRAJAYA: The Covid-19 case in the Women and Children Hospital in Likas involves an eight-month-old girl, says Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said the case was detected before the girl was supposed to undergo surgery.
He added that the Ministry was currently conducting active contact tracing for this case.
"We will screen those who have been exposed to the patient. The investigation is ongoing, we just got the report and the progress is ongoing in terms of looking into the cause," he said.
On the question of whether husbands can accompany their wives into delivery rooms, Dr Noor Hisham said it was dependant on each individual hospital's policy.
"They have their own policies respectively, taking into account the space and room available," he said in his daily press briefing on Monday (June 8).
