Enhanced MCO extended to May 12 in parts of Pusat Bandar Utara


PETALING JAYA: The enhanced movement control order (MCO) will be extended until May 12 in several parcels at Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The Senior Minister (Security Cluster) said the enhanced MCO was extended in these areas based on the advice of the Health Minister.

The areas affected are Parcel C (Jalan 2/3A); Parcel D (Jalan 2/3A); Parcel E1 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D); Parcel E2 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D); Parcel E3 (Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B); and Parcel F (Taman Batu View and Taman Batu Hampar).

He added that the enhanced MCO at Parcel A and Parcel B of Pusat Bandar Utara as well the Selayang Wholesale Market would end on Monday (May 4).

Ismail also said that the enhanced MCO at Menara City One, Malayan Mansion, Selangor Mansion and the Masjid India area ended on Sunday (May 3).

Similarly, Ismail said that the enhanced MCO at Tahfiz An-Nabawiyyah and a house in Batu 23, Kampung Sungai Lui, Hulu Langat also ended on Sunday.

Ismail also said that until Sunday, a total of 24,081 individuals have been detained for flouting the MCO.

He added that 18,218 people were undergoing quarantine at 244 centres nationwide.

On Friday (May 1), Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the easing of the MCO to a conditional MCO on May 4 to allow most industries and economic activities to resume with SOPs set by the authorities.
