Covid-19: Teacher, 20 students at tahfiz school in Melaka test positive

MELAKA: Some 70 students of a tahfiz school in Jasin have been quarantined after some of them tested positive for Covid-19.

Jasin OCPD Deputy Superintendent Mispani Hamdan said they were shifted to a quarantine centre in Alor Gajah after one teacher and 20 students tested positive for the virus.

He said the students were believed to be linked to the Seri Petaling mosque cluster.

"The students will undergo a 14-day quarantine at the centre," he said on Tuesday (April 7).

The students are aged between 13 and 21.

Jasin is categorised as a Covid-19 red zone area.
