TAMPIN: The Tampin district, along the border of Negri Sembilan and Melaka, may not be as popular as Port Dickson, but the district offers interesting places for ecotourism and extreme sports enthusiasts.
Located about 46km from Seremban and 44km from Melaka, the district boasts two popular attractions, namely, Tampin Extreme Park and Tampin Water Park, which are located near Gunung Tampin.Tampin Extreme Park operations manager Muhammad Uzair Abdul Malek said visitors could try rock climbing, abseiling, flying fox and tree climbing.
“In Peninsular Malaysia, Tampin Extreme Park is one of the most popular rock climbing venues as it offers granite climbing.
“Visitors can also go jungle trekking and waterfall abseiling as it is located close to Gunung Tampin forest reserve, ” he said.
Uzair suggested visitors try waterfall abseiling.
Admission fee to the park, which covers 0.81ha, is RM30. It recorded 2,729 visitors last year, he added.
Visitors at the park can also relax and unwind at the Tampin Water Park, located 3.8km away.
Tampin Water Park chief executive officer Nasir Rahim said its four pools have depths ranging from 0.3m to 2.1m.
“The water has been treated and is safe for swimming. Visitors can also try jungle trekking, archery and paintball, ” he said, adding that the area was suitable for family fun.
The admission fee is RM10 for adults and RM5 for senior citizens, people with disability and children (three to 12 years old). — Bernama
