JOHOR BARU: State Umno chief Datuk Hasni Mohammad (pic) has been sworn in as the 18th Johor Mentri Besar at Istana Bukit Serene.
It is learnt that Hasni was sworn in before Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar on Friday (Feb 28) at Istana Bukit Serene.
It is learnt the Johor Ruler felt that the new coalition government has a simple majority based on the Statutory Declarations.
The new government will comprise assemblymen from Umno, MIC, PAS, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and possibly an independent assemblymen.
The swearing was carried out despite Pakatan Harapan organising a mammoth gathering with 28 assemblymen.
Presently there are 56 assemblymen in Johor.
A press conference is expected to be held by Johor Umno later today.
