Hasni Mohammad expected to be new Johor MB

JOHOR BARU: State Umno chief Datuk Hasni Mohammad is expected to be sworn in as the new mentri besar.

It is learnt that a swearing-in will be held in front of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar later on Friday (Feb 28) at Istana Bukit Serene.

The Johor Ruler felt that the new coalition government has a simple majority, based on the SDs that he has with him.

The new government will comprise assemblymen from Umno, MIC, PAS, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and possibly independent assemblymen.

The swearing-in is expected to be carried out, despite Pakatan Harapan organising a mammoth gathering with 28 assemblymen late Thursday (Feb 27).

Presently, there are 56 assemblymen in Johor.
