KUALA LUMPUR: The much-awaited Economic Stimulus Package 2020 will be announced as scheduled by interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at 4pm today in Putrajaya.
A media invitation from the Finance Ministry confirmed the event.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir tweeted (pic) that he attended a meeting with the Finance Ministry’s top officials with regard to the tabling of the Economic Stimulus Package.
The package is aimed at stimulating Malaysia’s economy and mitigating any adverse repercussions arising from the Covid-19 outbreak and other external uncertainties.
The economic aid is designed mainly for the aviation, retail and tourism sectors to cushion adverse repercussions from the outbreak. — Bernama
