GPS puts nation’s interest first

MIRI: Any decision taken by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the wake of the latest political developments will be made in the interest of the nation and the state, says Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said the state government’s most important concern was the country’s political stability because in essence this was crucial for the nation to move forward.

“The country is faced with mounting economic problems arising from uncertainties including the Covid-19 outbreak that must be addressed in earnest and expeditiously, ” he told a press conference here yesterday.

Abang Johari, who is GPS chairman, said the state government would abide by any decision taken by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in solving the current political turmoil. — Bernama
