Politicians among witnesses to be quizzed over sex claims against Anwar (updated)

SHAH ALAM: Bukit Aman will be calling in a few more witnesses including politicians in connection with the investigation of alleged sexual misconduct involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said police have already taken the statements of eight witnesses so far in the case.

"We will be calling in a few more witnesses to assist with investigations.

"Once the investigation is completed, we will forward the matter to the Attorney General's Chambers," he told a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Monday (Dec 16).

Asked on the willingness of Anwar's accuser Muhammed Yusoff Rawther to be subjected to polygraph testing, Comm Huzir said police will ascertain whether there was a need to do so in the probe.

Yusoff lodged a police report in Sentul claiming the PKR president had sexually assaulted him.

He has been called twice to Bukit Aman to record his statement about the allegations believed to have happened at Anwar's home in Bukit Segambut in October last year.

Anwar has denied the allegations and also had his statement recorded in Bukit Aman on Thursday (Dec 12).
