PETALING JAYA: The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) building on Jalan Gasing here, which was partially destroyed in a fire last year, is now permanently closed.

Members and employers who need to make transactions are advised to visit its other offices in Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Puchong, Sri Petaling or Jalan Raja Chulan.

In a notice, EPF said additional information on its new Petaling Jaya office would be updated on its website and social media channels soon.

An EPF spokesman told The Star that it was aiming to open its new Petaling Jaya office by the end of the year.

In February last year, a blaze destroyed about 40% of the building in Jalan Gasing.

According to the Fire and Rescue Services Department, the fire was caused by a spark caused during maintenance work that ignited flammable cladding panels used on the building's exterior.
