Pahang to get another public holiday on July 31

KUANTAN: Pahang will enjoy an additional day off on July 31 in conjunction with the Sultan of Pahang's birthday.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the state executive council had decided that July 30 and 31 would be public holidays.

He said this was because Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's birthday was on July 30, which incidentally was also the day of the King's installation.

"Because these two events fall on the same day, the state government has decided to declare public holidays on both days to mark its importance.

"Hopefully with this, the people of Pahang will be able to appreciate and use the two days of public holidays accordingly, Insya-Allah," Wan Rosdy said in a statement Tuesday (July 9).
