PETALING JAYA: Police are looking for a man caught on video slapping and punching a woman in a fit of road rage.

The viral video of the incident, which took place around 4pm on Wednesday (May 1) along Jalan Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur, showed the man getting off his motorcycle and confronting a woman.

After a short exchange, he punches and slaps her before a few bystanders pulled him away.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Noor Azmi Yusoff said the man had accused the woman of changing lanes without signalling and whacked the roof of her car with his helmet.

"When she stepped out of the car to check the damage, he hit her," he said in a statement on Thursday (May 2).

The woman later lodged a police report and received treatment at Hospital Ampang.

"The man has a criminal record with five charges connected to drugs and mischief.

"We are investigating the case under Sections 323 and 427 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and causing mischief," he said.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the police immediately.
