PUTRAJAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor will face a fresh charge today of committing bribery involving RM5mil in relation to a solar hybrid project in Sarawak.
The former prime minister’s wife will face one count of seeking gratification in 2016 in relation to the project to supply electricity to rural schools in Sarawak.
She will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court this morning.
Yesterday, Rosmah was called to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters here to have her statement recorded ahead of her latest appearance in court.
She arrived at 1.40pm and left at about 3.20pm in a black Proton Perdana bearing the registration plate WLQ 11, the favourite number of her husband Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Last November, Rosmah claimed trial to two counts of graft allegedly committed in 2016 involving RM187.5mil relating to the solar hybrid project.
In the first charge, Rosmah was accused of soliciting for herself a RM187.5mil bribe from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin through her aide Datuk Rizal Mansor.
She was also accused of receiving RM1.5mil from Saidi as a reward for assisting Jepak Holdings in obtaining the same project.
