SERDANG (Bernama): A few hours before the fatal factory bus accident, S. Suresh spent about two hours chatting with his brother-in-law when he went to pick up his three children in Taman Desa Cempaka, Nilai in Negri Sembilan.
S. Santhiaseelan, 43, said Suresh, had worked as a bus driver for more than 10 years and was never involved in any accident
He said they lived in the same area and Suresh would routinely drop by his house to leave his three children aged between eight and 12 and pick them up later.
“Suresh left my house at about 10.30pm yesterday as he had to go to work and it was at about 1.30am when a relative called to tell me that Suresh was killed in an accident,” Santhiaseelan said, adding that he was still in shock.
Suresh was killed when the factory bus he was driving plunged into a monsoon drain near MASKargo in Sepang on Sunday (April 7) night.
The 11.10pm accident also resulted in the death of 11 foreign workers.
Preliminary police investigations found that the bus was carrying 43 MASKargo contract workers and was on its way from a hostel in Nilai.
They were supposed to start their shift at midnight.
Santhiaseelan said Suresh's body will be taken back to Nilai for cremation on Tuesday (April 9). - Bernama
