Maria narrates, matter-of-factly her experience as she was detained for 11 days.

PETALING JAYA: The son of Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin is out of danger and under observation.

"He is out of danger. Surgery went well and he is now under observation. What a relief! Thank you for your concern. Much appreciated," Maria said in a text message in a WhatsApp group on Monday (Jan 28).

It is learnt that the 26-year-old eldest son of the activist and Petaling Jaya MP was set upon from the back.

He was attacked at about 6pm yesterday while jogging at a park in Taman Bukit Mayang Emas here.

A struggle ensued during which Chin's son was stabbed in the right side of his stomach before the assailant escaped.

It is not known whether anything was stolen.

The victim was rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing and police are looking for the suspect.
